Main Passage: John 14:6 | Supporting Passages: Acts 9:2 | Acts 19:9 |
Summary |
Hello, my name is Ken Saathoff. This is a project that has been on my heart to do for some time now. I was unsure as to how to move forward, and I explored a few avenues towards ministry that has helped me grow. At the same time I have also found that the Word of God is not always understood correctly in people who truly believe they are Christians.
This misunderstanding can be due to many reasons; was taught incorrectly by someone they trusted, they learned from a person who was trying to manipulate others, they did not understand what was presented by a godly person, or they just do not care because they believe that a loving God will just let them in heaven because they are not as bad as a historical bad person. I know there are other reasons too, but the point is we all need to know what the Bible says with an understanding as to what it means.
Additionally, there are those who are truly following what they believe their god wants them to do and they are full of zeal and this leads to the attacks of Christianity. Saul was one of these persons prior to his conversion on the road to Damascus. He was a Jew who followed all of the Jewish traditions; he was not only a Pharisee but also the son of a Pharisee.
Saul’s religious position as a Pharisee stood directly against these new teachings of Jesus. Saul, who later was known as Paul, was given authority from the high priest to go to Damascus bring back any of the followers of the Way (Acts 9:2). Based on religion, he was given the right to persecute the church and anyone who were following the teachings of Jesus.
Even after the conversion of Saul, others were there to take his place in speaking evil of the Way (Acts 19:9). This early description of Christians comes from Jesus himself when he was speaking to His disciples and He said that “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; No one come to the Father but through me.” (John 14:6) This is where the name of this ministry is coming from “The Way”. I also want to bring out the truths of what Jesus taught. Jesus also said in Luke 12:8 “And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God; This is why the name of this ministry is The Way True Confessions Ministries.
Today we live in a time where the Christian belief is under attack and the truth of God is being perverted. The best way to defend against the attacks of Christianity is to arm ourselves with the truth and knowledge of the Bible and Jesus teachings. We all need to be able to walk in the word of God, and that is my prayer for this project, to be able to spread the truth of the Bible and of our Savior, Jesus. To bring to you an understanding of the word of God that was not present before for whatever reason or this may be a strengthening of your knowledge you already possess.
I pray that the Holy Spirit leads us and guides us into all of the truths of His holy words, and we are given the understanding, discernment and comprehension so that we are protected against the traps of the evil one, the one who prowls like a lion. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
